So how does that work? They can translate any name into Korean Hangul? I wouldn't have thought so! That's very cool.
My son lived in Sri Lanka... their language (Sinhala) has pretty amazing characters. He said his name couldn't translate at all, so I just assumed Hangul would be like that, too.
Hangul is actually pretty simple to learn. There are only 24 Hangul characters in their alphabet. Each character makes a sound, so to translate an American name into Korean they basically just sound it out and use the hangul characters that correspond with each sound. There are a few sounds that don't translate well, so they just try to get as close as possible. If a Korean person read it, it wouldn't sound exactly like Clarissa, said with an American accent, but it would be close enough.
I think I will make some kind of artwork for her room that has her name in Korean. I just haven't decided what yet! :)

Love it! Are you going to hang that in her room?
Nice! :) Do you have it memorized yet so you can write it, too?
Wow, the Korean letters are very beautiful! I agree you should have a sign made for her room, great idea!
